Either you have an old chip, you have a chip from an unknown manufacturer, or the program could not detect your chip (which usually means that it is too old). You can try to play but in all likelihood you will need to upgrade your computer before you can play. Come on, get with the program, don't you know that buying new computers helps the economy!
You need new version of DirectX. Go here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.asp
You might need a new video card. You might not. Just try it.
